Şoray Bayraktaroğlu Talks About Advantages of Investment in North Cyprus

Şoray Bayraktaroğlu, Director of Sales and Marketing at Tanyel Construction talks about the advantages of investing in North Cyprus and the attention their latest project Yasemin Sitesi gets. Details are in our article.

Şoray Bayraktaroğlu Talks About Advantages of Investment in North Cyprus

Tanyel Construction is known for their projects and their high quality in the construction industry.

Their residential projects, built according to demands of customers are always highly appreciated.

We interviewed Şoray Bayraktaroğlu, Director of Sales and Marketing at Tanyel Construction, about the recently delivered Yasemin Compound project despite the difficulties of the pandemic and the 2nd  Phase construction of the compound. Şoray Bayraktaroğlu mentioned the continuous interest in their project and underlined that investing in North Cyprus has always been and will continue to be beneficial for investors.

We are at times where individuals, companies and countries face hardship due to the pandemic. How is it for Tanyel Construction? How are you coping with the circumstances?

The years 2020 and 2021 have been heavy on the world in general. We all hope that we will return to “good old days” soon. Like the rest of the world we are also facing difficult times in Cyprus. The standards of work and of our lives have changed dramatically, the lockdowns were hard for us. Our workers from Turkey returned to their country so we were working hard on finishing the process with our remaining workers. Obviously this caused some delay in the progress of work. On the other hand, we increased our inspections. We set up warning signs and stations for disinfectants and separated our workers according to their field of work so they could not intersect with other branches. This is the norm now. Wearing masks is obligatory anyway and we also rearranged the refectories. We are doing PCR tests for the whole company weekly as an additional precaution.

“The Global Crisis Has Increased the Interest in Detached Houses”

Do you think that the global crisis despite its difficulties, has provided some advantages to the business world especially with regards to the importance of digital presence?

One of the advantages of the crisis was that the demand for detached houses significantly increased. We are delighted with the demand for the apartments at our Yasemin Compound as the buildings are low rise and carry the spirit of detached houses.

  • “We are Proud to Be Able to Deliver Our Homes During This Difficult Time”

    You successfully delivered homes at the 1st Phase of Yasemin Compound to their owners. Now the compound gets gradually inhabited. What is the first feedback of owners?

    We have handed over apartments to the first 20 families. We are proud that it was possible to have 20 new home owners without a big delay. The handing over is always an exciting time. We are pleased to hear a lot of positive feedback. We always stand by our work. Our customers know that we will do everything as a company to deal with any problems. Therefore, I believe that they are quite at ease.

  • “At the 2nd Phase of the Yasemin Compound We Have Put the Emphasis on Customers’ Demands”

    You have recently started construction of 2nd Phase of the Yasemin Compound. Could you tell us more about it?

    Sales of the 2nd Phase of the Yasemin Compound started recently. The project is adjacent to the first one. There will be 4 blocks of apartments with 6 flats in each, totaling to 24. The apartments are offered with 2+1 and 3+1  options. There will be only be 2 floors on top of the ground floor. The ground floor apartments will benefit from the gardens and the top floor has the advantage to use the spacious roof terraces. As the blocks are planned with sufficient distance from each other each block will have enough space without limiting the views of neighboring apartments. The apartments themselves are designed to be spacious and roomy. The ample garden space is planned for the use of the ground floor and 1st floor apartments so that each home owner can have his own garden and plant his own fruit trees, organic vegetables or other greenery. The car park provides a lot of parking space and there will be a mini playground for children as well. Social facilities of the neighboring Phase 1 compound are open to inhabitants of Phase 2. The security of the compound will be provided by controlled gates.

    “There’s a Strong Demand from Locals”

    Local investors seem to be very fond of the Yasemin Compound. Who is your targeted customer for Phase 2?

    All home owners of the 1st Phase at Yasemin Compound are locals. There is a high likelihood that the 2nd Phase home owners will also be locals. The demand at the moment points in that direction.

    “It is Always Advantageous to Invest in North Cyprus”

    There is a strong interest from abroad about properties in North Cyprus, what would be your interpretation? How would this change the construction industry if the interest materializes in sales with regards to the balance of demand and supply?

    Many Turkish Cypriots living abroad think about returning to their homeland especially after the pandemic is over. In North Cyprus we have experienced the advantages of living on an island. The cases could be held under control and did not increase significantly. The fluctuation of the exchange rate during the pandemic also played a role for those living abroad to choose investing in North Cyprus.

  • Do you believe that the recommendation to ‘Invest in North Cyprus’ at a global scale had a positive influence?

    Absolutely. I strongly encourage to ‘Invest in North Cyprus’.

    What would you be the issues you would like to warn property buyers about?

    Those thinking to buy property should make sure that the company they intend to buy from is registered at the Building Contractors Association. They should research if the property is mortgaged. Furthermore, they should investigate the past of the company. They could easily find out about the quality of construction by asking home owners who bought from that company.
