We talked to Ahmet Baştaş about his experiences in the sector, combining these experiences with customer needs and the importance of accurate planning. How was 2021 for you?
We achieved our strategically targeted plans. Therefore, I can say that it has been a successful year for us.
We determine each year with strategic plans and act according to this situation. We create these reports, taking into account the situation one year ago and the conditions that have arisen. We are aware of both our own situation and the expectations of our customers. We review and organize sales targets, new projects and many issues accordingly. We are advancing our own construction division, financial and other investments in line with this strategic plan.
Our main goal last year was to digitalization. We created the infrastructure of digitalization 3 years ago.
If you ask why, I’ve read that, according to a research conducted by a professor in Switzerland, companies that do not digitize their assets, knowledge and experience by 2027 will disappear at a rate of 75%, and this article impressed me a lot. We accelerated digitalization. This gave us a very good momentum.
“Esentepe Region Should Be Announced as a Development Region”
You are one of the architects of Esentepe, how do you interpret the development of the region?
We are not working only for our projects but also for the region. We are in constant contact with municipalities and state institutions and produce projects. We will organize a seminar on the development of the region with the Contractors Association. Unfortunately, only our activities are not enough for the region. It is necessary to choose this place as a development area and speed up the stagnant work. We would like to implement a project like Long Beach, then restore the historical attraction points and open them to visitors again. We want to make the region attractive and combine it with projects in the coastal areas.
What is your opinion about other regional contractors turning their route to Esentepe?
Actually, this is a very good situation. The more investors there are in the region, the faster it will develop. I have never seen our other friends as competitors. We create more synergies and we are ready to help as much as we can.
“We Have a Sales Support Office, Not a Sales Office”
What kind of marketing strategy do you have?
We are investors. We started to introduce our products and create materials in this direction. We want agencies to make the sale, and we want to support them in this direction. Our marketing strategy is based on agency development. We do not have a sales office, we have a sales support office.
“Sales Records Will Be Broken This Year in The Real Estate Sector”
What is your message for the year 2022?
I perceive positive signals about the sector, I believe that sales records will be broken in the real estate sector in 2022. In summary, I am quite hopeful for this year. We can experience this already, which will benefit us, especially as the pandemic process affects the economy and lifestyles in other countries.
What is your advice for investors?
When buying a house in Cyprus, you should definitely look at the history of the company and invest by getting positive feedback. In this regard, we work with the contractors association. It will cover all companies, but we need more time because we are still in the pandemic process. There should be no trouble again.
